How’s Your Brand Health Today? A simple check
I’ve been talking to a few people about how to share this Brand Health Check — whether I should be creating a quiz or form, rather than sending the questions directly and inviting you to reply.
And yes, replying to an email does take a bit more effort.
But after sitting with that for a while, I realised I’m actually okay with that. Because the people who pause, think, and reply tend to be action-takers and decision-makers — and they’re the people I do my best work with.
So this is intentionally more hands-on. Maybe even a quiet test of who’s really in. (I may yet eat my words and build a quiz, but I want to try this first.)
Like I mentioned last week, I’ve been thinking a lot about what happens when a brand is almost working.
The mission is usually solid.
The work is genuinely good.
But things still feel harder than they should.
That’s often when founders decide they have a marketing problem, so they spend money on ads, or ask ChatGPT to write a social post (no shade, most people do). But more often than not, it’s not a marketing issue at all.
It’s a clarity issue.
And that’s where brand comes in.
So, I’ve put together something genuinely useful: a free Brand Health MOT, inspired by the work I did with Hospital Rooms (case study coming soon).
It’s a short set of questions you can answer in 10 minutes or less.
Simply reply with Yes / Sort of / No for each question, and I’ll send you:
- a Brand Health snapshot
- where your biggest opportunities lie
- a clearer sense of what to focus on next
The Brand Health MOT
- Can you clearly describe what your brand stands for in one or two sentences?
- Do your key audiences consistently understand your mission and purpose?
- Does your brand promise reflect the value you deliver, and is that obvious to others?
- Are your values or guiding principles meaningful and distinctive?
- Do your communications (website, social, brochures) reflect a clear brand story?
- Is it easy for people to understand and engage with your brand across channels?
- Does your visual identity reflect your brand story and feel consistent everywhere?
- Do you, your team, or stakeholders live and communicate your brand values?
- Does your brand guide decision-making, or is it mostly aesthetic?
- Do you feel confident about the steps you need to take to grow your brand?
Over to you,
Danielle
