I've been putting this off since March

So. A lot has happened.

Hey, hope you're keeping warm and dry (those in the UK will know what I mean!)

My last email went out in March. I've been meaning to write since then and honestly kept putting it off — not because nothing was happening, but because a lot was, and I wasn't sure how to talk about it yet.

So here's the honest version.

In recently became a Director and equal shareholder at The ReSet Board. I'm still getting used to saying that out loud. It means I'm bringing my brand and strategy brain into the room at board level — working with businesses on the bigger questions. Where are you actually going? Does the story you're telling match the work you want to be doing? Are you attracting the right people, or just any people? It's the work I love, just with a wider view of the whole business.

Alongside that I've been deep in a few client projects that have kept me busy and genuinely energised.

I'm working with a long-standing women-in-business organisation as they head towards a major anniversary. A lot of the work has been about figuring out what to keep and what to let go — honouring everything they've built while making sure the brand feels right for the next generation discovering them now. It's delicate work and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm also working with an independent events organiser — someone who is brilliant at what they do but whose brand wasn't communicating that at all. We've nailed the positioning and the story, and now we're moving into name and identity. I can already see it all falling into place.

And I'm supporting a my long-term client — a therapist and relationships practitioner as they move towards launching their new website. The work right now is about making sure the final touches count — not just that it looks good, but that it's actually clear about who they help and how.

On the teaching side, I delivered a couple of brand lectures for students at BIMM as well as a Portfolio Review Day at Loughborough Uni — so much fun! And this week I'm part of the Birmingham Design Festival Delivery Team again, co-hosting the Graphics talks at BCU Parkside. The theme this year is change — which feels pretty fitting given everything.

Oh — and I was recently a guest on the Feeling Content podcast with Shaun Taylor. We got into what it actually means to build a brand that means something — beyond the logos and the colours, into the stuff that's harder to articulate. The feeling people get, the trust you build over time, why brand clarity has to come before content. We also ended up talking about parenthood and work life balance, or the reality that it doesn't really exist. It's one of my favourite conversations I've had in a while. You can watch or listen to Episode 4 | Building a Brand That Actually Means Something - wherever you get your podcasts.

If any of this resonates — if you're in your own season of change, thinking about a rebrand, or just feeling like your current brand has got a bit too small for you — hit reply. Tell me what's going on. I'll be straight with you about whether I can help, or point you somewhere useful if I can't.

Speak soon,
Danielle
