It’s funny isn’t it, the more you hear something the more you start to believe it.

I can see those Guinness ads now “Guinness is good for you” they really nailed the brand messaging!

Even I honestly thought that drinking alcohol was good for me but…it’s not true! and I’ve been speaking to Carol Urry – Alcohol Free Coach all about it on the podcast.

I’ve learnt so much about the alcohol industry and all the things they don’t want you to know!

It’s easy for business owners (or anyone) to get caught up in the – having a glass of wine after work lifestyle, a few drinks on the weekend to relax, but I think it’s really important to pay attention to how alcohol might be impacting your overall performance.

I’m not saying you need to stop drinking completely, but being informed and having the right knowledge is good start.

Our conversation got me thinking about the times I’ve got stressed or needed to relax (even more common as a business owner) – but the things I might have reached for in the past are not the things I reach for today.

Yes I like the odd glass of wine, but I know that if I want to do something to manage my stress on a daily basis, daily breath work is way more effective than a daily glass of wine!

Carols programmes look at why we drink, why we may feel we need to drink and all the different scenarios around using alcohol – self-medicating, confidence, help sleeping, stress, need to chill.

We also bust some myths and reveal some shocking statistics the drinks industry really don’t want you to know about!
